On 5 April 2024, the Director of CIMT paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dato’ Sri Amran Mohamed Zin, Secretary General for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia in which they emphasized the importance of subregional cooperation as a building block for ASEAN. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation and communication, focusing on projects and programmes under the IMT-GT framework to align with bilateral and regional initiatives. They also discussed preparations for the 16th IMT-GT Summit scheduled to be held in Malaysia in 2025.
